The development and production project of the Spanish Army's VCR 8×8 DRAGON tanks continues to develop steadily.

The participation of SVELT as a partner company is fundamental, making its experience available in the design and supply of ladders and scaffoldings to contribute to the success of this important project.

We supplied special access walking structures for the production of the military transport and infantry combat versions.

We worked closely with General Dynamics European Land Systems Santa Barbara to provide safe and efficient access solutions for the production of VCR 8x8 Dragon. The collaboration between our two companies was key to ensuring success in this phase of the project.

Santa Bárbara Systems (GDELS-SBS) produces both 8x8 Wheeled Combat Vehicle “Dragón” (348 vehicles for an initial phase, with an expected requirement of 998 units) and Castor Sapper Combat Vehicle (36 units) and Ajax Combat Vehicle.

As far as the progress of internal tests, the company, part of the TESS Defence Consortium, has indicated that the first VCR 8×8 Dragon produced in Alcalá de Guadaira is undergoing internal tests before its delivery to the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

These tests, also thanks to the use of Svelt structures, are carried out to develop the different systems of the vehicle, before the start of the certification tests in April by the DGAM General Directorate of the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

The confirmation of the certification tests in April represents another important milestone for Spanish Army's 8×8 Dragon VCR program, which has as one of its main objectives for the current year the departure from the assembly line of 45 units corresponding to VCI version.
