Dust settles in every vein of marble and Michelangelo's David, a Renaissance jewel, must be regularly cleaned in its Florentine setting.
Every two months, the sculpture completed by Michelangelo, then 29 years old, in 1504, is subjected to meticulous care in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence, the capital of Tuscany, where it has remained for over 150 years.
Sometimes considered the representation of the perfect man, the four-meter sculpture is made from a single block of marble.
Her personal restorer, Eleonora Pucci, climbs onto the PROFESSIONAL scaffolding by SVELT S.p.A. to observe it closely.
A necessary ritual for the preservation of this white giant admired last year by more than two million visitors.
